Thank you again for additional donations. We've received an amazing amount of new tools and building supplies. We also received some K'nex and Legos. I recently spent the PTA grant money as well. I chose to purchase some new Snap Circuits sets and an electronic playground (by the makers of Snap Circuits), for those students that really enjoy playing with electricity.
Most tracks have now finished solids and liquids. Several students were excited to try experiments at home, and I hope that many of you were able to do that. There are so many resources online, if you find that you have a child that interested in doing experiments at home.
After solids and liquids several grade levels moved on to exploring mathematical concepts using our K'nex. If you have a child that enjoys using K'nex, your family may be interested in the K'Nex User Group website. Check out free resources. They address many different topics.
As the first quarter winds down, some classes have begun to investigate electricity using our new Snap Circuits kits, along with LittleBits and our old fashioned science kits. Other classes have continued to explore with K'nex, building parks as an introduction to simple machines.
An additional note: I really enjoy working with computers. Many of you know that I used to supervise our computer lab. I just want to remind you and your family that there are some great coding and robotics resources out there. I'm starting to miss working with the kids on things like Scratch and Code.org. If you have a child that's interested in learning a little more about computers, contact me, and I'm happy to pass on resources that I've really enjoyed.
Thanks again. Take care.
