the cube
In The Cube we will be offering students a chance to collaborate, create, and explore. We have taken our inspiration from several sources, STEM schools, office spaces like those seen at Google and Dropbox, and the maker(space) culture, to name a few of the big ones.
In The Cube, you can expect to see students doing a lot of hands-on activities. For many of our early lessons, we will be focusing on science and engineering, encouraging students to approach problems logically and solve them creatively and fearlessly. For now, we’ll be using as our guide an elementary version of the engineering design process. We will be encouraging students to Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create, and Improve. Students will be encouraged to research, brainstorm ideas, collaboratively plan solutions, create prototypes, and then improve their ideas.
